MESSI SAYS THAT ARGENTINA'S MAIN RIVALS AT THE 2022 WORLD CUP WILL BE ENGLAND, FRANCE, & BRAZIL

In less than a week, Argentina's Lionel Messi will pick his favorites to win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The 35-year-old Messi is competing for the World Cup title for the first time in possibly his last World Cup appearance. Saudi Arabia will be the team's first opponent on November 22. Argentina's main rivals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be Brazil, France, and England, according to Lionel Messi. It will be Argentina's first time winning the tournament since 1986, as they are two-time champions. The team enters the World Cup unbeaten in 35 matches since reaching the semi-finals of the 2019 Copa America.

There is a good chance that Messi, 35, will not have another opportunity to win the World Cup. The same teams are always mentioned when we discuss candidates," Messi told South American Federation CONMEBOL. "If I had to choose some over others, I would choose Brazil, France, and England. However, the World Cup is so difficult and unpredictable that anything could happen." Messi initially came very close to winning the World Cup in 2014, when Argentina lost in the final to Germany. The last time Argentina played in the World Cup was in 2018 when they were knocked out at the last-16 stage. There is a strong expectation that they will finish on top of a group that contains Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Poland.

Messi commented, "We are very excited. We have a very nice team that is very eager, but we intend to proceed very slowly.". He added, "We hope to start the World Cup in the best way possible. The more you play and spend time on the pitch, the better you get to know your team-mates.". LSA says Messi is enjoying the build-up to the event. In Scaloni's view, he appears to be as eager as ever to enjoy the World Cup. The captain of Argentina's national team is enjoying his teammates, training sessions, the stay, and the entire process.
