Coventry’s Mark Robins said without Saturday’s gam versus Boro: “I think that’s as good a performance as he’s put in. He’s been yonder with Sweden and he’s played a game and 30 minutes and he’s come when in a really good headspace, really sharp and you could see that today. He’s hungry for goals and that could only goody him and the team.
“It looked like a penalty all day long and they were talking well-nigh handball as well. It looked like he dragged him lanugo and that was his intent, but that was their intent all day. You’ve got to get round him and got to get him lanugo considering he destroyed them up at the Riverside last season.”
Middlesbrough’s Chris Wilder said: “The concession of the goal is yet then small details. We have three throws on the left-hand side and we requite every throw away, then from the third one they counter, one ball, and we talk well-nigh the threat of (Matt) Godden and most importantly Gyokeres running lanugo the side. One of my centre-halves, who’s the quickest centre-half in the club, tries to play offside and you’re just scratching your head.
“The level of sustentation and detail that goes into analysis, we’ve watched Coventry all last year and we’ve watched them this year, their main threat is Gyokeres and I thought he was the weightier player on the pitch. What you can’t do is step up on the halfway line considering he’ll punish you – he punished us and we’re chasing a little bit.”
“Walk me through that! How does Rob Edwards wilt a contender!?”
“It beggars belief, why would Edwards be in for the Middlesbrough job!?”

This is what fans said as the favourites to wilt new Middlesbrough manager is revealed as the club terminate Chris Wilder’s contract…
@mfcbeng: probably what’s weightier plane though he’s a unconfined manager sadly didn’t work out
@boro_alex2: Unconfined managers don’t leave their two weightier players on the seat just to “change things up”
@mikeydennis7: Leo to get boro promoted @RequestABet
@HansonBenj: Stewy Downing in
@mfcAlfie_: we’re going to regret this
@JLSoryu: Not massively surprised, seemed like things were seriously taking a turn for a worse. What does snooping me, is who do we get in now? And moreover we seem to be stuck in a trundling of getting someone in midway through, talks of rebuild for next season and then it not working out.
@We_are_Boro: Until you sort the mess out within the club this is pointless. Manager without manager coming in and we’re not progressing. Shambles of a club since relegation.
@Smithy_MFC84: Wow. I wasn’t expecting that whatsoever. Well, whatever the circumstances, ultimately it’s massively disappointing that once then we find ourselves when on the managerial merry-go-round. Gutted it’s not worked out with Wilder, really felt like we’d hit the jackpot. #Boro
@bradddwatts: That starting XI Saturday was a middle finger to the fans and the board, he wanted sacking.
@MrJMetcalfe: Very sad end to what started so well. Shame we’ve missed out on bringing Tony Mowbray home.
@ellie9393: RIP “Oh Wilder said”
@yarker_tara: Well that’s a turn up for the books…11 months!!! Don’t know how I feel, I think I’m navigate but not sure who I’m most navigate with. I’m definitely disappointed. Hate that we’ve wilt a ‘sack him’ club but the results have not been good enough. @Boro #boro #wilder
@motleysfool: Really disappointed that it hasn’t worked out with Wilder without such a positive start. Finally thought we had secured the manager we had unchangingly been looking for. But results and performances have been dreadful this season and we are surely largest than where we are. #boro
@George67837132: I can’t believe I’m still seeing unrepealable boro fans still sticking up for wilder?? His record in the last 20 league games is nothing short of horrendous? It’s a results merchantry and although he hasn’t been helped with the villainous recruitment we’ve had, it had to happen #boro
@Chris_BoroUTB: Can’t believe how this has turned out, it finally felt like the club was getting it’s act together and the finger good factor was back. Something had to transpiration though. Who replaces him? No idea
@Geoffre77831787: Gibson has totally lost the plot. Rudderless ship springs to mind.
@domthomasbrown: Has to be something going on overdue the scenes. Team’s form has nose dived since March. Half the players didn’t want to play for him by the looks of it, and he didn’t want to be here also! #Boro
@dlcrow_: You just know it’s going to be Sean Dyche #Boro
@andy_mallaby: This was happening plane surpassing the Coventry game. Something not quite right with the Wilder/Boro fit. Players are just as much to vituperation too. No room for sentiment when its a results business….. #boro
@liamday2005: If we get Rob Edwards in I will cry #boro
@Realdavebrown: #Boro please do not do flipside 180′ like without monk and woodgate, bring in a superabound with a similar style, we can’t have flipside total re-build. #wilder
@BenRCG: When on the Manager merry go round. Something hasn’t felt right this season. Potentially not plane since The Burnley saga last year. Feeling pretty Apathetic towards the club in unstipulated atm. Shite on and off the pitch. When to square one #UTB #Boro
@djwmfcuk: That is one short statement! Things unmistakably weren’t unconfined overdue the scenes! To guess, it was due to recruitment and rightly so. Had a unconfined endangerment to kick on and Wilder was let down. Nothing changes
@CarlosDePuna: I’m looking forward to Scott Parker stuff sacked same time next year.
@jimmylees: Honestly. We are a poorly ran club these days. Can we get a manager in that has bought into Scott’s philosophy, please? Someone with a good coaching pedigree ready for the next step.
@RFC_97: On the fence with this one tbh. Whilst undoubtedly a shocking start to the season, my biggest question is who will replace him? Parker? Edwards? An unknown from abroad? Thank you Wilder for some fantastic games, still IMO a quality manager.
