WORLD CUP 2022: TOP SCORERS SO FAR IN RACE FOR GOLDEN BOOT
Competition for the Golden Boot award has begun for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. There is no doubt that some of football's greatest players, including some legends of the game, will compete for the World Cup trophy in Qatar in 2022. As 64 matches will be played in the World Cup 2022, there will certainly be an interesting race for the Golden Boot. Following is a list of the top scorers at the FIFA World Cup 2022:
Enner Valencia- 3 Goals (Ecuador)
As a forward for Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe, Enner Remberto Valencia Lastra captains the Ecuador national football team. In 2013, he was awarded the Copa Sudamericana Golden Boot for his performance for Emelec in Ecuador. With a brace against Qatar, Enner Valencia opened his account at this year's World Cup and helped Ecuador to a 2-0 victory. There was a chance that he could have had a hat trick if VAR had not overruled a goal. Following the first half, he contributed an equalizer for Ecuador by tapping in against the Netherlands.
Kylian Mbappe- 3 Goals (France)
French professional footballer Kylian Mbappé Lottin plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team. Known for his dribbling abilities, exceptional speed, and finishing skills, Mbappé is considered one of the best players in the world. France's talisman at the World Cup is Kylian Mbappe. As France opened its World Cup campaign, he tormented the Socceroos with his devastating turn of speed and scored and assisted a goal. Leo Messi, also known as Lionel Andrés Messi, is an Argentine professional footballer who plays forward for Paris Saint-Germain and is the captain of the Argentina national team. In his World Cup debut, Lionel Messi scored a well-taken penalty against Saudi Arabia, but it was not enough to prevent them from suffering a surprising loss. As Messi breaks the deadlock with a beautiful goal outside the box, Argentina emerges out of a hole against a dogged Mexico side in a do-or-die contest.

As a striker for Serie A club AC Milan and the France national team, Olivier Jonathan Giroud is a French professional footballer. It is often considered that he is one of the most underrated strikers in the world as a result of his work rate, strength, shot power, and consistent goal-scoring ability. The winger scored two goals in each half to help England to a 6-2 victory in their opening match.
Richarlison- 2 Goals (Brazil)
As a forward for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Brazil national team, Richarlison de Andrade is known by his mononymous name, Richarlison. Due to the persistence of the Serbian defense, Richarlison was not able to make a significant impact on the game as a number 9 in Brazil's four-man attack. A Spanish professional footballer, Ferran Torres Garca plays as a forward for La Liga club Barcelona and the national team of Spain. It was at Valencia where Torres made his senior debut in 2017 that he began his career. During the 2020–21 season, he won both the Premier League and the EFL Cup with Manchester City. In their opening match, Ferran Torres contributed a brace to a clinical victory. In Spain's opening match, Torres was in exceptional form, scoring a penalty and scoring a brilliant goal to add to his goal tally.
Andrej Kramarić- 2 Goals (Croatia)
Kramarić plays as a forward or attacking midfielder for the Bundesliga club 1899 Hoffenheim and the Croatia national team. Kramarić began his career playing football for Dinamo Zagreb, where he holds the record as the club's top youth goalscorer. The striker equalized Croatia's score against Canada 9 minutes before halftime with a well-timed finish across the goalkeeper after a well-timed run. Mehdi Taremi plays for Porto in the Primeira Liga and for the Iranian national team. A Spanish professional footballer, Alvaro Borja Morata Martin plays for Atlético Madrid in La Liga and for the Spain national team. The Netherlands National Team and Eredivisie club PSV both use Cody Mathès Gakpo as a winger. In February 2018, Gakpo made his first-team debut for PSV, having graduated from their academy. In the Netherlands' opening match, Gakpo scored a crucial header to help the team defeat Senegal 2-0. The following day, he scored an absolute stunner from his weak foot to open the scoring against Ecuador.
Mohammed Kudus- 2 Goals (Ghana)
Mohammed Kudus is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays for the Dutch Eredivisie club Ajax as well as for the Ghanaian national team. Ghana defeated South Korea 3-2 on Monday, with Mohammed Kudus scoring two goals in the second half, including the go-ahead goal after the Koreans had leveled the match in the second half, preventing them from being eliminated.
