In the history of FIFA world Cup, its’ the first time world cup is organized in middle-east Asia i.e. Qatar which is the most famous country. Qatar is preparing for years to host World cup 2022 after announcement was made in 2010. The next World Cup in Qatar has a lot to offer. We’ve rounded up a list of five important facts and information you should know about the tournament, to help you prepare for this year’s World Cup.

First-Ever Winter World Cup in the Northern Hemisphere

When we talk about the atmosphere in which FIFA is played, it is traditionally organized in southern hemisphere during the summer months when the region is least likely to face the effects of winter. A winter world cup will be held in northern hemisphere in 2022 as of now this is the first such tournament to be happening in winters. Things are often complicated in Qatar. Being in the middle-east, heat reaches to the temperature of 50 degree Celsius. Organizing world cup in this situation is next to impossible. As a result to it, the FIFA world cup has been rescheduled from its’ traditional summer slot to the winter months in order to compensate with the climate in Qatar. This means that the winter world cup will be held in the northern hemisphere for the first time.

High heat waves temperature during day time in Qatar, the host country for FIFA world cup 2022. World cup during summer heat waves reaches to 50 degree Celsius which is next to impossible to host FIFA in Qatar. As far as winters are concerned, the daytime temperature in winters can be high enough. Being Qatar one of the reputed and innovative countries, it has invented a solution to it. For the very first time in the history of FIFA world cup, it will be organized in full air-conditioned stadiums. To succor a healthy and comfortable view experience for the fans and for the team players, all the eight venues will be air conditioned.

For the 2017 World Cup, Qatar has a wide range of venues, which is good to know.. This is the smallest amount of stadiums ever used for a World Cup in recent memory, and it will be the first time the tournament will take place in Qatar in just eight stadiums. The event will take place in eight locations world-wide, but only one of them is being completely renovated at the moment, while the seven other ones are being constructed from scratch in their respective countries as part of the build. It is therefore intended that the most of the matches will be held in Qatar as a consequence of the Qatar World Cup taking place in only eight arenas within the country.

The designs that are made are not just for the sake to represent it in the tournament. Press released by FIFA states that “Meant to signify infinity and harmony, and also the shape of a sand dune is the World Cup 2022 logo’s ribbon”. Traditional Arabic motifs adorn the ribbon. The logo features the digits two and zero, which stand for the tournament's year. It is depicted using the colours of the Qatari flag and white Arab clothing. The world cup 2022 logo's ribbon features Arabic writing that also represents harmony and infinity and has the shape of a sand dune. Color is taken from the country’s flag and white Arab dress is used to depict. For the lettering of ‘Qatar 2022’ Arabic font is used. It is noticed that logo’s shape is similar to the digit eight as it also represents the eight new stadiums that are built where world cup matches are to be played.

Logos are not just simple designs that represent an event or something rather it symbolizes multiple facets of regions and culture.

Restrictions to Alcohol
Qatar is ensuring to give its’ best efforts to organize FIFA world cup which will be a huge achievement to the country but the fan zones are the major part of this effort. Being an Islamic country, Qatar do not serve alcohol and availability of alcohol during the world cup has been a hot topic for a while now. Qatar being the host country won’t let down the fans. It has come with a solution, at reduced price, alcoholic beverages would be served at fans zones across the country and some parts of the stadium for FIFA world cup. It is totally a new concept to the fans as now they would be able to enjoy the live match while enjoying their inexpensive boozes.
