An upholding Goodbye to the Legends! Most of us have grown up seeing Messi and Ronaldo playing football .Two of the most famous footballers on the globe. They will both be appearing in their  FIFA in Qatar and probably the last. Not only these two , many more football players might play their last world cup, which started in the late 2000’s and early 2010 .no matter how great players Messi and Ronaldo are, neither has been able to win the cup. This could be the last chance for most of the rubric names to add the World Cup trophy to their team. They are likely to be Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar who might be retiring from international football by the next World Cup i.e. 2026. Family, friends and fans are eagerly waiting to see their idols to showcase their aptitude for the one last time they might be playing before their retirement.  Here we are with the list of some skilled footballers who might retire.

Lionel Messi

One of the great player of all time. Born and bought up in Argentina and later moved to Spain at the age of 13 to join Barcelona to make his first debut at the age of 17 in 2004. He helped Barcelona to achieve a treble in Spanish Football (2008-2009) aged 22. Messi was one of the highest paid footballers on the globe for five years consecutive years out of six years from 2009 to 2014.  Messi has announced his retirement from International Football on television in Argentina after defeating Chile on penalty kicks in Copa America Centenario.  After, Angel Di Maria announced his retirement after his last match for the Argentine team. Messi also hinted that after the World Cup changes would be coming. Messi, while he was confused by saying “I Don’t Know” in translation in a postgame interview by the media, as most people has treated it as the last World Cup for the Legend, as he turns out to be 35 soon. If it’s the last tournament for Messi, all eyes are on him as this one is a major trophy from his legendary career.

Angel Di Maria

 Yet another Argentine footballer announced his retirement plans, which was followed by the Venezuela match. Maria is as same age. Maria used social media platform i.e. Instagram mentioned "I'm only going to tell you thank you for the enormous affection I received. I always dreamed of everything I experienced on this beautiful night. It was surely my last game with this shirt in Argentina. "And to be able to say it was a marvelous night is an understatement. Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thanks. And congratulations to the whole team for the amazing game it played. It was a perfect game for everyone. Let's keep growing and dreaming together. Let's go Argentina!"   Maria and Messi shared an exceptional compatibility on the field while playing on the field for Argentina. Maria made her debut in 2008 and has played over 115 matches representing the senior Argentine team. He is also known as “Fideo” among his fans. The retirement was not about international football but it seems to come after the World Cup’22, held to be in November in Qatar.

Neymar

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, also known as Neymar Jr. is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Paris-Saint-Germain and the Brazilian National Team as a forward. He is one of the most renowned football players on the globe. One of Neymar’s teammates, Rodrygo, confirmed that Neymar has planned to retire from international football after the FIFA World Cup’22 and will hadn over his jersey No.10 to young star. If Rodrygo is saying the truth, then it would be the last tournament for Neymar. Rodygo, who has also won 5 caps for Brazil has also claimed to have Neymar’s no.10 jersey. The second highest scorer in their nation is Neymar himself with 74 goals in 119 games, needing 3 goals to beat Pele to become No.1 in the country.  Neymar said: ‘I’m already leaving the national team and 10 is yours’. I didn’t even know what to say to him. I was embarrassed; I giggled and didn’t even know what to say properly. I told him that he had to play some more that I didn’t want to now and stuff. And then he had a laugh,”  Rodrygo revealed in an interview.

Jordi Alba

 Jorge Alba Romas also known as “Jordi Alba”  is a Spanish Professional footballer who plays for La Liga Club Barcelona and Spain National Team as a left-back. Hoping to lift the World Cup for the last time, as Alba announced his retirement after FIFA World Cup’22. “When the day of my retirement comes, it will be very tough. But I still have a lot to give because I take care of myself a lot. Everything happens very quickly. And as the years go by, you start to appreciate things more,” Alba said.
